How ParleSprint handles your data.
Last updated: July 19, 2026
ParleSprint (“Parle,” “we,” “us”) is an AI-powered French speaking tutor for iOS, Android, and web. This page explains, in plain language, what data we collect, why, who else sees it, and how you can delete it. We do not sell your data to anyone, ever.
The short version
- We never sell your data to third parties, and we never will.
- When you talk or write to your AI tutor, that voice/text is sent to Google (Gemini) and, if you've configured it, OpenRouter, solely to generate the tutor's response and grade your practice. These providers process it as our processor, under their own enterprise data-handling terms — they are not permitted to use it to train their models or for any purpose other than serving your request.
- Your practice history, streaks, and skill progress are used only to personalize your own lessons — not shared with anyone, not used to build a profile for advertising.
- You can delete your account and all associated data at any time, directly from the app.
What we collect
Account information. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your email address and, if you choose to share it, your name. This identifies your account and lets your progress follow you across devices.
Voice and speech. When you practice speaking with your AI tutor, your microphone audio is streamed to Google's Gemini Live API to generate a real-time spoken response, and transcribed for review. A text transcript of each practice session is stored on your device (and, once cross-device sync launches, in our database) so you can review your own history. Raw audio is not stored after the live session ends.
Text and practice content. Your written answers, exam responses, and chat messages with the tutor are sent to Google Gemini (and, if enabled, OpenRouter) to generate lessons, grade your work, and plan what to practice next.
Learning and progress data.We track which vocabulary, grammar points, and skills you've practiced, how well, and how often, so the app can personalize your daily lessons to focus on what you actually need. This is the core of how ParleSprint adapts to you — it is used to build your lesson plan, never to build an advertising profile or shared with any advertiser.
Usage and diagnostics. We do not currently use any third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDK. If that changes, this page will be updated first.
Who we share data with
We share data only with the processors required to run the product, and only for that purpose:
- Google (Gemini API / Gemini Live API)— receives your voice audio and text practice content to generate tutor responses, grading, and lesson content.
- OpenRouter— an optional fallback AI provider you may configure yourself; if enabled, it receives the same categories of text content as Gemini for the same purpose.
- Supabase— our authentication and database provider, used to manage sign-in and (as cross-device sync rolls out) store your account and progress data securely.
- Apple / Google sign-in— used only to authenticate you; we never see your password.
We do not share data with data brokers, advertisers, or any other third party. We do not sell data.
Where your data lives
Most of your learning data (vocabulary progress, session history, skill mastery) is stored locally on your device in an on-device database. Your account (sign-in identity) is managed by Supabase. As cross-device sync becomes available, the same data will also be stored in our Supabase database, protected by per-user access controls so only you can read your own records.
Your choices and rights
- Delete your account.Open the app, go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. This permanently deletes your account and all associated learning data, both locally and from our servers, within 30 days.
- Request or delete data without the app. Email thoufeek@agiventures.ca and we will act on your request within 30 days.
- Opt out of the AI tutor. The core product is built around live AI practice, so declining voice/text processing means the tutor feature can't function — but you are never required to consent to anything before you've seen exactly what's being sent and why, inside the app.
Children
ParleSprint is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us at thoufeek@agiventures.ca and we will delete it.
Security
All network traffic between the app and our servers, and between our servers and Google/OpenRouter, is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Access to stored data is restricted to what's required to operate the service.
Changes to this policy
If we materially change how we collect or use data, we'll update this page and, for material changes affecting existing users, notify you in the app before the change takes effect.
