How to use it
employer means “to use, to employ”. It is a regular -er verb with a spelling change, so the endings follow the regular -er pattern. The y becomes i before a silent e: je paie, ils paient, but nous payons. In the passé composé it takes avoir: j’ai employé. The past participle is employé. Future and conditional share one stem: j’emploierai / j’emploierais.
