How to use it
manger means “to eat”. It is a regular -er verb with a spelling change, so the endings follow the regular -er pattern. Before a or o the stem keeps an e (nous mangeons, je mangeais) so the g stays soft. In the passé composé it takes avoir: j’ai mangé. The past participle is mangé. Future and conditional share one stem: je mangerai / je mangerais.
