How to use it
dire means “to say, to tell”. It is an irregular verb, so the present-tense stems have to be learned, but the endings still follow the usual pattern. In the passé composé it takes avoir: j’ai dit. The past participle is dit. Future and conditional share one stem: je dirai / je dirais.
